Aloísio Mendes hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When Giuseppe Rodrigues fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PALESTRA ITÁLIA's protests and gave Giuseppe Rodrigues a yellow card for diving instead. Giuseppe Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, PALESTRA ITÁLIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Paulista to maneuver through the defense. Márcio Alagoano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gandalf Fehér. PALESTRA ITÁLIA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Fanáticos booed when PALESTRA ITÁLIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Berart didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Amadeu Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egídio Amaral scored 1-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luisinho Cavalcante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amadeu Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gandalf Fehér tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

54 minutes into the match, André Branco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gandalf Fehér. PALESTRA ITÁLIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Branco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Amadeu Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Fanáticos's Luisinho Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Edmondson in the 64th minute of play. André Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fanáticos's Benê Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 minutes, André Branco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fanáticos and the PALESTRA ITÁLIA players grew even worse after the yellow card. André Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Luisinho Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by PALESTRA ITÁLIA's Egídio Amaral. But to his dismay, Egídio Amaral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 84 minutes into the match, Fanáticos's goalkeeper Luisinho Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egídio Amaral. A collision led to Fanáticos getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Luís Paulo Lago hit a great ball. In the 86th minute of the match, Egídio Amaral got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luisinho Cavalcante was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Adolfo Edmondson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute, Egídio Amaral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PALESTRA ITÁLIA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. PALESTRA ITÁLIA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
