Umberto Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Juvenal Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo de Castro in the 48th minute of play.

Vítor Nóbrega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 57 played minutes Júnior Loyola rounded Curitiba Eagles's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luizinho Peixoto during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Danúbio to win.
