In the 4th match minute, Danúbio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Loyola to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute Dedê Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dedê Furtado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilson Nogueira took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juvenal Linares. Juvenal Linares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Furtado in the 13th minute of play forced Danúbio's goalkeeper Juvenal Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Sportivo Sergipe's Luan Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sportivo Sergipe from getting a goal against them. Dedê Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Linares having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Club Sportivo Sergipe's zone, Vítor Nóbrega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luan Paranaense came out of the goal and Vítor Nóbrega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Sportivo Sergipe's goalkeeper Luan Paranaense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the game, Luís Fabiano Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Sportivo Sergipe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Danúbio the free kick. Luís Fabiano Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Vítor Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Danúbio's goalkeeper Juvenal Linares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedê Furtado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gilson Nogueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Linares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. When Club Sportivo Sergipe's Dedê Furtado in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Danúbio's goalie prevented a goal. Dedê Furtado struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Juvenal Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Sportivo Sergipe. Elder Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elder Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elder Costa hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Juvenal Linares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilson Nogueira in the 73rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilson Nogueira got free with Juvenal Linares in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Club Sportivo Sergipe getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Sandrinho do Vale hit a great ball. Vítor Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vítor Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luan Paranaense came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Danúbio's Chicão Simão. But to his dismay, Chicão Simão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Danúbio fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Sportivo Sergipe had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
