The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vítor Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dário Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danúbio's Vítor Nóbrega got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Pitta in the 15th minute of play forced Danúbio's goalkeeper Juvenal Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Danúbio getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Benê Queirós hit a great ball. Luís Eduardo Leal struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Juvenal Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabaca FC. After having played for 19 minutes, Luís Eduardo Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabaca FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Eduardo Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rdth minute of the game Chicão Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cabaca FC's Dário Moura was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Delfim Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Vítor Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Danúbio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Nóbrega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cabaca FC's Luís Eduardo Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Chicão Simão made the kick off in the second half. Juvenal Linares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséas Pitta's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Chicão Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Dário Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Pitta in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Oliveira in the 61st minute of play forced Danúbio's goalkeeper Juvenal Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luís Eduardo Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benê Queirós during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reginaldo Cosme hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Delfim Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delfim Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cabaca FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Delfim Pitta hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Cabaca FC's goalkeeper Dário Moura had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vítor Nóbrega. Juvenal Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséas Pitta in the 87th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Danúbio's zone, Oséas Pitta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Linares came out of the goal and Oséas Pitta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Danúbio's Juvenal Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Eduardo Leal in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Oséas Pitta made a precise shot to the right of Juvenal Linares. Danúbio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0.
