Juvenal Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Edmondson in the 6th minute of the match. Juvenal Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Amaral in the 8th minute of play. When Chicão Simão came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Danúbio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chicão Simão couldn't finish the play. Juvenal Linares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio Amaral's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Juvenal Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Edmondson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Chicão Simão received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gandalf Fehér came out and tried to block the shot, but Chicão Simão slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Egídio Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. PALESTRA ITÁLIA's supporters rose to their feet, but Egídio Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juvenal Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Danúbio getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Chicão Simão hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Adolfo Edmondson managed to get in a good position for a shot. PALESTRA ITÁLIA's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Edmondson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juvenal Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Egídio Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juvenal Linares was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vítor Nóbrega in the 59th minute of play forced PALESTRA ITÁLIA's goalkeeper Gandalf Fehér to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, PALESTRA ITÁLIA's Egídio Amaral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juvenal Linares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adolfo Edmondson might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juvenal Linares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adolfo Edmondson ran back to his position shaking his head. Juvenal Linares came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by PALESTRA ITÁLIA's Egídio Amaral. But to his dismay, Egídio Amaral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Egídio Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PALESTRA ITÁLIA's protests and gave Egídio Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. Egídio Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Chicão Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juvenal Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Edmondson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Juvenal Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Linares made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Egídio Amaral sent off a good shot on target. PALESTRA ITÁLIA's Gandalf Fehér played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chicão Simão in the 97th minute of play.
