Erik Paes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valdemar de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdemar de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erik Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. During the 81st minute of the match Inácio Mello completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Inácio Mello a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After recieving a nice pass, Cavagnoli's Murillo Salgado tried to score from far away in the 83rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Frederico Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Paes having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Medieval Football Club had played much better football throughout.
