An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Correia in the 18th minute of play forced soldadinho F.C's goalkeeper Frédson Cordeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédson Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomé Travassos in the 23rd minute of the match. Tomé Travassos might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frédson Cordeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomé Travassos ran back to his position shaking his head. 28 minutes into the match, Válter Marinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Erik Paes. Cavagnoli's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Válter Marinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 32nd match minute, soldadinho F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Fiori Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Paes having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Fausto Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. soldadinho F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Frédson Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fiori Berger in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erik Paes saved Cavagnoli from getting behind. After having played for 58 minutes, Fausto Xavier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. soldadinho F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fausto Xavier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cavagnoli's zone, Fiori Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Paes came out of the goal and Fiori Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fiori Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Erik Paes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Fiori Berger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Paes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Tomé Travassos came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Cavagnoli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomé Travassos couldn't finish the play.
