Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Timao's Edgar Prata started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mango Nas Paleta FC were furious when Manfredo Reis was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mango Nas Paleta FC! Edgar Prata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerônimo Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Timao's Sílvio Luiz de Senna got a free kick in the 20th minute. Roberto Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Carlos Fernando Rodrigues made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Roberto Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mango Nas Paleta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 29 played minutes Mango Nas Paleta FC got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Fantini. 30 minutes in the game, Edgar Prata dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Edgar Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Mango Nas Paleta FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Reis came free, but Jerônimo Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Roberto Cavalcante ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Fernando Rodrigues was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Mango Nas Paleta FC's João Carlos Vargas got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Jerônimo Veiga acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 64th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nestor Leite. José Maria Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Veiga made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Reis got free with Jerônimo Veiga in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 73 minutes of play, Timao's José Maria Reis made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerônimo Veiga was left in no man's land by his defense there! If José Maria Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Prata in the 82nd minute of play forced Mango Nas Paleta FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Fernando Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Cavalcante in the 83rd minute of play. In the 90th minute, Edgar Prata fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Edgar Prata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Timao players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mango Nas Paleta FC.
