Jano Saraiva was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rafa Mangueira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. In the 16th minute Cássio Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Campidelis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiago Gabriel Terra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Romao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Taireta the free kick. A collision led to Romao getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Albuquerque in the 92nd minute of play forced Romao's goalkeeper Jano Saraiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Claudinei Souto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jano Saraiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Taireta walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
