In the 18th play minute Percival da Cunha came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised João Salgado. 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Tricolor's zone, Sérgio Furtado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nando Hoffmann came out of the goal and Sérgio Furtado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, S. E. Portovelhense's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Santos came free, but João Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renatinho Donato struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Nando Hoffmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S. E. Portovelhense. If Jeremias Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th match minute, Academia Tricolor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Santos to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in S. E. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovanni de Queirós helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, Giovanni de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Percival da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Academia Tricolor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Percival da Cunha couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

But to his dismay, Jeremias Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Nando Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Furtado in the 72nd minute of play. When Renatinho Donato came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the S. E. Portovelhense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Donato couldn't finish the play. The supporters of S. E. Portovelhense booed when Academia Tricolor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. A long shot from Dagoberto Nunes in the 79th minute of play was well struck, but Nando Hoffmann made a really good save at the right post. S. E.
