Cássio Tinoco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sérgio Furtado in the 11th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Dalmo de Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. João Salgado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 23 played minutes, Araçá F.C's Valdir Pimenta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Salgado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Araçá F.C reached it. In the 24th minute, Rafa Koehler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, S. E. Portovelhense's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmo de Medeiros came free, but João Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portovelhense's supporters rose to their feet, but Sérgio Furtado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rafa Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Araçá F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafa Koehler couldn't finish the play. If Rafa Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sérgio Furtado to make the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renatinho Donato couldn't finish the play. Araçá F.C's Cássio Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Furtado in the 58th minute of play. After 65 played minutes Araçá F.C got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Passos. After a defensive mix-up in S. E. Portovelhense's zone, Dalmo de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Salgado came out of the goal and Dalmo de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cássio Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Araçá F.C got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Vale. When Giovanni de Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S. E. Portovelhense's protests and gave Giovanni de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Giovanni de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute, the referee gave Araçá F.C a penalty. Angelo Veiga looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for João Salgado. Cássio Tinoco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Furtado in the 92nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dalmo de Medeiros got free with João Salgado in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Araçá F.C had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
