Dráusio do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Pombal in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Potreiro's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Santos came free, but Dráusio do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Academia Tricolor getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Edgar Pombal hit a great ball. Nando Hoffmann made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Glauco dos Santos sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute, Edgar Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Falcão Fernandez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nando Hoffmann. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Nando Hoffmann successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Nando Hoffmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glauco dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. André Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Hoffmann having to interfere. When Luís Gustavo Freire fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potreiro's protests and gave Luís Gustavo Freire a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Potreiro getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Freire hit a great ball. Glauco dos Santos took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nando Hoffmann. Nando Hoffmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glauco dos Santos in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nando Hoffmann saved Academia Tricolor from getting behind. Erik Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nando Hoffmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erik Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Santos to strike the kick off in the second half. When Glauco dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Potreiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glauco dos Santos couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Glauco dos Santos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Potreiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The supporters of Academia Tricolor booed when Potreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Potreiro's Dráusio do Vale got control of the ball when Percival da Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nando Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glauco dos Santos in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Glauco dos Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nando Hoffmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Nando Hoffmann came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Potreiro's Glauco dos Santos. But to his dismay, Glauco dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After a rather tough play, Academia Tricolor's Zé Roberto Tande got a free kick in the 89th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Percival da Cunha could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Dráusio do Vale however easily saved by the left post. Dráusio do Vale was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Percival da Cunha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Percival da Cunha really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Potreiro fully deserved thier win.
