Pyrenopolis's Luisinho Campidelis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Domingues in the 37th minute of play. Fernando Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ediberto Sena having to interfere. With a little luck, Alegre EC's Ediberto Sena got control of the ball when Olívio de Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pyrenopolis's zone, Giovani Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisinho Campidelis came out of the goal and Giovani Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Giovani Catarinense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateus Velloso during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Pyrenopolis fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Alegre EC a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Durval Nogueira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pyrenopolis's Luisinho Campidelis. 1-3. After the first half Alegre EC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Marinho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Domingues in the 55th minute of play forced Pyrenopolis's goalkeeper Luisinho Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute Olívio de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Sena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorginho Domingues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisinho Campidelis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. When Pedro Luís Souza fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pyrenopolis's protests and gave Pedro Luís Souza a yellow card for diving instead. Pedro Luís Souza hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Luisinho Campidelis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Domingues, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Giovani Catarinense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisinho Campidelis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Giovani Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisinho Campidelis. Pyrenopolis's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovani Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 79 minutes into the game, Jorginho Domingues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luisinho Campidelis. Jorginho Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. Giovani Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Luisinho Campidelis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorginho Domingues in the 86th minute of play forced Pyrenopolis's goalkeeper Luisinho Campidelis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Pyrenopolis's goalkeeper Luisinho Campidelis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovani Catarinense. Luisinho Campidelis made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Giovani Catarinense sent off a good shot on target. In the 91st minute, Jorginho Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ademir Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pyrenopolis's protests and gave Ademir Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. Luisinho Campidelis went to the wrong direction when Durval Nogueira was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. If Jorginho Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 101 minutes into the match, Alegre EC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Marinho came free, but Ediberto Sena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Alegre EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pyrenopolis throughout the match.
