Mirandella EC's Edmílson Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 14 played minutes C. R. Alquimistas got a freekick which was hit by Paulinho Mendonça. Alfredo Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Augusto Quadros's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Andrézinho da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonardo Valadares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrézinho da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dorian Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Carlos Augusto Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Mirandella EC's Leonardo Valadares got control of the ball when Dorian Rodrigues tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aloísio Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Dorian Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmílson Pinho to make the kick off. Edmílson Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Augusto Quadros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Alfredo Abreu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C. R. Alquimistas's Alfredo Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Pinho in the 58th minute of play. 58 minutes into the game, Paulinho Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. R. Alquimistas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mirandella EC the free kick. In the 59th minute, Paulinho Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiaguinho Alvarenga's late challenge caught a Mirandella EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiaguinho Alvarenga helped the player get up and apologised. Dorian Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Valadares having to interfere. After a rather tough play, C. R. Alquimistas's Luís Fernando Valladares got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Leonardo Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho da Silva in the 77th minute of play. Leonardo Valadares came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by C. R. Alquimistas's Andrézinho da Silva. But to his dismay, Andrézinho da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, C. R. Alquimistas's Frank Lara got a free kick in the 82nd minute. The corner led Mirandella EC's Cléber Toledo to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfredo Abreu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Pinho in the 95th minute of play forced C. R. Alquimistas's goalkeeper Alfredo Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. R. Alquimistas's Alfredo Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save C. R. Alquimistas from getting a goal against them. Mirandella EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
