Doni Bertassi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Magno Quirino made a huge save. Daniel Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Richard Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 20 minutes, Raí Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caracanga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raí Mazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Caracanga FC booed when Campo Grande Football was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caracanga FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
