The corner led Gauna´s Futebol Club's Reginaldo Koehler to fire away a dangerous shot which Frederico Cardoso despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Toscano in the 11th minute of play forced Gauna´s Futebol Club's goalkeeper Leopoldo Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabrício Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Leopoldo Reyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredão Baiano in the 17th minute of the match. Leopoldo Reyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Téo Toscano in the 21st minute of play. Frederico Cardoso was a little too slow when André Luís Cabral got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 42nd minute Tostão Prata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Reyes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
