The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Válter Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Guilherme Branco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Guilherme Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter Moura in the 13th minute of the match. When Bebeto Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Subiu Esporte Clube's protests and gave Bebeto Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. Délio Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Branco having to interfere. Elder Fontes kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Bebeto Bittencourt fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ramón Reis, passed just outside the right post. Ramón Reis made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Marco Abraão sent off a good shot on target. Bebeto Bittencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Subiu Esporte Clube's Ramón Reis threw himself towards the right post 48 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bebeto Bittencourt, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bebeto Bittencourt made the kick off in the second half. Marco Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juninho Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juninho Nunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Subiu Esporte Clube's Juninho Nunes got a free kick in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Subiu Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Válter Moura came free, but Luís Guilherme Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Guilherme Branco came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Mamoes EC's Délio Vieira. But to his dismay, Délio Vieira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Marco Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute, Délio Vieira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Guilherme Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Elder Fontes charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elder Fontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elder Fontes hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After 90 played minutes, Subiu Esporte Clube's Magno Toledo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramón Reis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Subiu Esporte Clube reached it. During the 91st minute of the match Elder Fontes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Elder Fontes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Subiu Esporte Clube booed when Mamoes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes, Subiu Esporte Clube's Magno Toledo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramón Reis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
