Gualter Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Wilton Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabiano Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Vaz in the 27th minute of play. Fabiano Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Botelho in the 30th minute of the match. Denílson Madureira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Fabiano Nóbrega when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fabiano Nóbrega didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raúl Vaz went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Vila Rural EC's Wilton Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Maia in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Zézinho Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vila Rural EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medonho F.C the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, Vila Rural EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zézinho Mello to maneuver through the defense. Sandrinho Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Sergipano having to interfere. A collision led to Vila Rural EC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Joaquim Botelho hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gualter Negri to make the kick off. Raúl Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Joaquim Botelho made a precise shot to the right of Fabiano Nóbrega. Medonho F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Gualter Negri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wilton Sergipano came out and tried to block the shot, but Gualter Negri slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 59th minute. Vila Rural EC's Wilton Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Maia in the 62nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Madureira in the 65th minute of play forced Medonho F.C's goalkeeper Fabiano Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabiano Nóbrega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 79th minute, Joaquim Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabiano Nóbrega was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Leopoldo Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Nóbrega having to interfere. Fabiano Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Madureira in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Medonho F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Denílson Madureira came free, but Fabiano Nóbrega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Sandrinho Meirelles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilton Sergipano. Vila Rural EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandrinho Meirelles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. Medonho F.C's Sandrinho Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
