The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fernando Faria got free with Mauro Cordeiro in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Fernando Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Cordeiro having to interfere. Joélson Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos da Costa in the 38th minute of play. Embirizal SS's Joélson Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Prata in the 39th minute of play. Zézinho Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Joélson Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
