In the 7th minute, Botafogo Devil's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ronaldo Nazario fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Gaffar Başkara in the 8th minute of play forced Botafogo Devil's goalkeeper Edson Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Botafogo Devil defense, Arif Gaffar Başkara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edson Recife. The Botafogo Devil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edson Recife should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Botafogo Devil booed when Bonninal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorival Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reginaldo Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ronaldo Nazario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Recife was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arif Gaffar Başkara showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. The Bonninal fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Bonninal's Adrianinho Neto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Ronaldo Nazario took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Edson Recife to make any attempt to save it. Edson Recife made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldo Nazario in the 34th minute. Ronaldo Nazario might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edson Recife. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldo Nazario ran back to his position shaking his head. If Adrianinho Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Arif Gaffar Başkara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bonninal's supporters rose to their feet, but Arif Gaffar Başkara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edson Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edson Recife stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arif Gaffar Başkara's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silvério Domingues stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arif Gaffar Başkara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Recife having to interfere. Bonninal made a substitution. Cao Ling Yi replaced Arif Gaffar Başkara. A collision led to Botafogo Devil getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Raí Zanette hit a great ball. Edson Recife took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cao Ling Yi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiago Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão de Senna having to interfere. Bonninal made a substitution. Narciso Loureiro replaced Eric Karlsson. In the 72nd minute, Raí Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Botafogo Devil's Carlos Fernando Baptista got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Adrianinho Neto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Botafogo Devil's Edson Recife was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ronaldo Nazario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 87 minutes into the game, Bonninal's Adrianinho Neto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edson Recife made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Cao Ling Yi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Recife having to interfere. Edson Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cao Ling Yi in the 95th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Neto in the 97th minute of play forced Botafogo Devil's goalkeeper Edson Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonninal walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
