The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Kiko de Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Embirizal SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Almeirim AD the free kick. If Luiz Fernando Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Faria in the 8th minute of play forced Almeirim AD's goalkeeper Abel Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chicão Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Dito Eger made in the 11th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Chicão Batista immediately put the ball in play. 13 minutes into the match, Almeirim AD's goalkeeper Abel Mota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kiko de Carvalho. 21 minutes into the match, Almeirim AD's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Faria came free, but Abel Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Mota made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Kiko de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Natã Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Joélson Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Victor Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Frank Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Embirizal SS getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Chicão Batista hit a great ball. Joélson Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Fernandes in the 39th minute of play. Almeirim AD's Victor Fernandes got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Almeirim AD's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Faria came free, but Abel Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fernando Faria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fernando Faria in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abel Mota saved Almeirim AD from getting behind. In the 58th minute Luiz Fernando Faria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fernando Faria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A throw-in in the 64th minute of the game was made by Dito Eger with Abel Tepedino as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Abel Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Almeirim AD's Abel Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fernando Faria in the 69th minute of play. Carlos Alberto Monteiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Abel Mota. Almeirim AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kiko de Carvalho took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abel Mota. Abel Mota dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko de Carvalho in the 80th minute of play forced Almeirim AD's goalkeeper Abel Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Embirizal SS booed when Almeirim AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rdth minute of the game Kiko de Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Almeirim AD's Abel Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
