Acaiaca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Antoniao SS the free kick. Antoniao SS's Marcelo de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Fausto Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléber Lago in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tarcisio Gomes saved Antoniao SS from getting behind. Marcelo de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Emanuel Antunes made a huge save. Emanuel Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar do Valle's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Paulo José Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. Antoniao SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo José Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo de Mendonça was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. Tarcisio Gomes went to the wrong direction when Osmar Vinhas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Acaiaca's goalkeeper Emanuel Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Peixoto. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

If Rui Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Antunes having to interfere. Tarcisio Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro de Moraes in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Antoniao SS fully deserved thier win.
