Pedro Paulo de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Bastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match had been going on for 32 minutes, Delwius F.C.'s Arí Galvão got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tarcisio Gomes. If Rui Bastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo de Barros couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramón Moraes made a kick off. If Marcelo de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Filipe Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Antoniao SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Paulo de Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Antoniao SS getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Eduardo de Mendonça hit a great ball. Paulo José Brito struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Pedro Paulo de Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Antoniao SS. In the 70th minute, Osvaldinho Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Marcelo de Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tarcisio Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruninho Mello in the 84th minute of the match.
