The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlinhos Furtado got free with Carlos Augusto Mesquita in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 47 minutes, Nicolas Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imperatriz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Motta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nicolas Motta to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Imperatriz's Reginaldo de Amaral broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. The referee ignored Imperatriz's protests and gave Wilton Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd match minute, Imperatriz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Gustavo de Queirozs short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Dudu Paraense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind SC.Commanders's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Mesquita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SC.Commanders's Carlos Augusto Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Motta in the 97th minute of play.
