Luiz de Amaral's late challenge caught a Night Wolves's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz de Amaral helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th minute of the match Luisão Mello sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexandre Vale skillfully saved the ball. Alfredão da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute Baltazar Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Night Wolves got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Mello. In the 16th match minute, Night Wolves was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of GUARANHUNS FC booed when Night Wolves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Night Wolves's Wilton Paes got control of the ball when Luiz de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. When José Pedro Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Night Wolves fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Alexandre Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléber Melo during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. GUARANHUNS FC's Aírton Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ren Cheng Cheng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arlindo Quadros to make the kick off. Baltazar Peres struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Wilton Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GUARANHUNS FC. Baltazar Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Paes having to interfere. Wilton Paes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredão da Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Night Wolves's zone, Luiz de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton Paes came out of the goal and Luiz de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the GUARANHUNS FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
