Dedê Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Anderson Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C. Cotovelo de cobra's supporters rose to their feet, but Anderson Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Humberto Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anderson Figueiredo took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Valle. Humberto Valle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 21st minute, Dedê Alagoano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Carlinhos Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robinho Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. A collision led to Confiança F.C getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luís Fábio de Almeida hit a great ball. Humberto Valle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anderson Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Anderson Figueiredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dedê Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Dedê Alagoano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jânio Neto. Dedê Alagoano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 45th minute, Anderson Figueiredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The E.C. Cotovelo de cobra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê Alagoano to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Confiança F.C booed when E.C. Cotovelo de cobra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Confiança F.C's Humberto Valle got control of the ball when Bernardinho Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardinho Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Confiança F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Figueiredo came free, but Humberto Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robinho Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. After 75 played minutes, Confiança F.C's Doriva Silva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jânio Neto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Confiança F.C reached it. After a rather tough play, Confiança F.C's Jorginho Simões got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Anderson Figueiredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 85th match minute, E.C. Cotovelo de cobra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã Pires to maneuver through the defense. Dedê Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anderson Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Valle having to interfere. Bernardinho Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Humberto Valle made a huge save. The E.C. Cotovelo de cobra supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing E.C. Cotovelo de cobra would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
