Ramiro Maranhense hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Doriva Silva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 21st played minute, shot the ball from way out. Confiança F.C's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Denílson Bezerra 46 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience was convinced that Mazinho Palmeira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Humberto Valle was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Só Classe FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
