Spectators: 7235 (Terracing: 5428, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fred Donatello started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Tocandira FC booed when Shrewsbury Town was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Donatello in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury Town's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Donatello came free, but Celsinho Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Laércio Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Luiz Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tocandira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luisinho Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonardo Simão having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisinho Mota in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonardo Simão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Gilvan Tavares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celsinho Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Shrewsbury Town's Celsinho Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Chaves in the 37th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Egídio Braga got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Luisinho Mota who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Leonardo Simão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Tocandira FC's zone, Egídio Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonardo Simão came out of the goal and Egídio Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisinho Mota made a kick off. Tocandira FC's Leonardo Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisinho Mota in the 52nd minute of play. Shrewsbury Town's Celsinho Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Donatello in the 54th minute of play. Egídio Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Leonardo Simão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tocandira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. If Fred Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Barros having to interfere. Shrewsbury Town were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Tocandira FC for a fine match.
