After recieving a nice pass, Jarry F.C's Bebeto Linares tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute of the match Mathias Lira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arthur Galvão skillfully saved the ball. When Jarry F.C's Edvaldo Damião in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jazz Messengers FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jazz Messengers FC's Arthur Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvaldo Damião in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Jazz Messengers FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luís Arantes hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute Edvaldo Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarry F.C's Tony Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Mesquita in the 26th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Jazz Messengers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Damião came free, but Arthur Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Didi de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Fonseca's late challenge caught a Jazz Messengers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Jarry F.C got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Fonseca. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Mesquita in the 41st minute of play forced Jarry F.C's goalkeeper Tony Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvaldo Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Jazz Messengers FC's Luís Arantes got a free kick in the 45th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elói Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. Didi de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Galvão having to interfere. If Didi de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Mesquita in the 64th minute of play forced Jarry F.C's goalkeeper Tony Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Didi de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Galvão having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Jarry F.C's zone, Elói Mesquita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Medeiros came out of the goal and Elói Mesquita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 68th minute, one of Jarry F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jarry F.C. When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, Jazz Messengers FC's Oswaldo da Silveira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tony Medeiros. If Didi de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Edvaldo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jarry F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvaldo Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Didi de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Galvão having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Jazz Messengers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Zanette to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi de Sousa in the 89th minute of the match. The supporters of Jarry F.C booed when Jazz Messengers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
