Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Descoberta's Lenílson Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Mesquita in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Descoberta's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo da Rocha came free, but Lenílson Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jazz Messengers FC's Rogério Zanette slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lenílson Mattos. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. In the 13th minute Rogério Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Descoberta's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Mesquita came free, but Lenílson Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Jazz Messengers FC booed when Descoberta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilvan Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Descoberta's goal looked a bit too open when Elói Mesquita came free, but Lenílson Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Samuel Eger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lenílson Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Severino Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Arthur Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur Galvão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilvan Torres's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Samuel Eger had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lenílson Mattos. Descoberta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuel Eger was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 40 minutes into the match, Jazz Messengers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Sampaio came free, but Arthur Galvão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elói Mesquita made a kick off. If Severino Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Jazz Messengers FC. Oswaldo da Silveira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lenílson Mattos. 5-0. If César Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Arthur Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lenílson Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Lenílson Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo da Rocha in the 81st minute of play. Severino Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur Galvão having to interfere. Arthur Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Torres in the 88th minute of the match. Lenílson Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilvan Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Descoberta's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
