Silvério de Barros started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Jarry F.C's goalkeeper Tony Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristóvão Fernandes. Cristiano Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Nelsinho Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Didi de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Acácio Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 16 minutes into the match, Jarry F.C's goalkeeper Tony Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orlando Montenegro. Silvério de Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Medeiros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvério de Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. Didi de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nelsinho Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Silvério de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Boca do Rio's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvério de Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. EC Boca do Rio's Nelsinho Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi de Sousa in the 29th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Acácio Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jarry F.C's Tony Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Jarry F.C from getting a goal against them. Cristóvão Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edvaldo Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. Tony Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarry F.C's Tony Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério de Barros in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute, one of EC Boca do Rio:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for EC Boca do Rio. Bebeto Linares placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Didi de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Nelsinho Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Jarry F.C's Mathias Lira got a free kick in the 67th minute. Orlando Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Medeiros having to make a save. Tony Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 77th minute, Orlando Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Edvaldo Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Nelsinho Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
