The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. But to his dismay, Elói Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Jazz Messengers FC booed when BAR F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ronaldão Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ronaldão Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Eger in the 17th minute of the match. Reynaldo Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Jazz Messengers FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Hugo da Rocha hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes, BAR F.C's Reginaldo de Godoi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Arthur Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in BAR F.C reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Zézinho Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAR F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Zézinho Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Galvão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elói Mesquita might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldão Barreto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elói Mesquita ran back to his position shaking his head. Ronaldão Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Eger in the 33rd minute of play. BAR F.C's Ronaldão Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Mesquita in the 35th minute of play. Ronaldão Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Eger in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronaldão Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reynaldo Capixaba made a kick off. Samuel Eger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ronaldão Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elói Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. In the 80th minute, Zézinho Magalhães made a precise shot to the right of Arthur Galvão. Jazz Messengers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jazz Messengers FC's Elói Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Reynaldo Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldão Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elói Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Reynaldo Capixaba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Galvão was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. The Jazz Messengers FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented BAR F.C from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
