In the 12th minute Severino Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Lopez's late challenge caught a Descoberta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Descoberta booed when ONIX EuBrasil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, Severino Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Severino Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Eduardo Zanette got free with Lenílson Mattos in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luiz Eduardo Zanette could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Lenílson Mattos made a huge save. In the 31st minute, Rômulo Lopez had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Richard Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Severino Sampaio struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Nestor Paraense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Descoberta. If Severino Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 46 minutes into the match, Descoberta's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Paraense came free, but Lenílson Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Zanette took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lenílson Mattos. Lenílson Mattos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilvan Torres was the one to do the kick off. ONIX EuBrasil FC's Nestor Paraense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save ONIX EuBrasil FC from getting a goal against them. After 57 minutes of play ONIX EuBrasil FC's Eduardo Lopez was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 57 played minutes ONIX EuBrasil FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Lopez. Nestor Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by César Trigo in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute, Róbson Paraense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Severino Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Paraense having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Gilvan Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of Descoberta's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Descoberta may have spent more time on the ball, but ONIX EuBrasil FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
