In the 19th minute, Valdir de Barros fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gualter Brito, passed just outside the right post. If Claudinho da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 30 minutes into the game, Sidnei Arantes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parisi EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Erveira FC the free kick. Sidnei Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Durvalino Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Brito having to interfere. Rogério Messias hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Valdir de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulisses Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulisses Sabóia was the one to do the kick off. Gualter Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir de Barros in the 58th minute of play. Rubens Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Haroldo Vargas made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir de Barros in the 63rd minute of play forced Parisi EC's goalkeeper Gualter Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Claudinho da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
