After a defensive mix-up in Goliath National Bank's zone, Ulisses Sabóia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Paranaense came out of the goal and Ulisses Sabóia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 5th minute, Franklin Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Vargas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilton Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 10th minute Ulisses Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute Erveira FC were awarded a corner. Ademir Peres went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Erveira FC's Ademir Peres to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcus Paranaense despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Erveira FC's Durvalino Sampaio got a free kick in the 16th minute. Nilton Gaspar might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haroldo Vargas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilton Gaspar ran back to his position shaking his head. When Jano Britto came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Goliath National Bank fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano Britto couldn't finish the play. Jano Britto took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Vargas. Haroldo Vargas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Marcus Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When Erveira FC's Ulisses Sabóia in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goliath National Bank's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Marcus Paranaense managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Erveira FC's Valdir de Barros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th match minute, Goliath National Bank was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredão Arósio to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Goliath National Bank's goalkeeper Marcus Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir de Barros. Valdir de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Carlos Secco hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. If Nilton Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Jano Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goliath National Bank's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Britto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ronaldo Moreno kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Goliath National Bank's goal looked a bit too open when Ulisses Sabóia came free, but Marcus Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Jano Britto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Nilton Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Erveira FC! The goalkeeper, Haroldo Vargas, was totally fooled by Goliath National Bank's Josué Vaz, who 79 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Jano Britto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haroldo Vargas having to make a save. Erveira FC's Valdir de Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Goliath National Bank's zone, Valdir de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Paranaense came out of the goal and Valdir de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Ulisses Sabóia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Erveira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Goliath National Bank players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
