In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rezende's goalkeeper Tomás Furtado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Rezende got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Rosa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Corrêa in the 17th minute of play forced Rezende's goalkeeper Tomás Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Atlético Torino were awarded a corner. Cauan Vianna went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Atlético Torino's corner Waldemar Corrêa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomás Furtado quite easily take care of the ball. Rezende's Tomás Furtado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Corrêa in the 26th minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Rubens Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Torino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubens Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute Waldemar Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Furtado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Waldemar Corrêa in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Furtado saved Rezende from getting behind. Alexsandro de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Atlético Torino's Bruno Zanette fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Waldemar Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Mesquita in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexsandro de Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Waldemar Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Tomás Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Torino. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Corrêa in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Furtado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atlético Torino played a much better game than Rezende and deserved their victory. The Rezende players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
