A sloppy throw-in by Jonathan Oliveira in the 4th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SpVgg Albrecht's Håkan Vacker. After 5th play minutes Rodrigo Gaúcho shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Tomás Furtado and just under the crossbar into goal. Rodrigo Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the match, Luizão Abreu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Furtado. Rezende's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luizão Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 20th minute, Rodrigo Gaúcho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Furtado was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Tomás Furtado came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by SpVgg Albrecht's Rodrigo Gaúcho. But to his dismay, Rodrigo Gaúcho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 28 minutes into the match, Alexsandro de Barros dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Haroldo Luz, 1-4. SpVgg Albrecht's Haroldo Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save SpVgg Albrecht from getting a goal against them. Luizão Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute Alexsandro de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexsandro de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. If Rodrigo Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. During this time SpVgg Albrecht's players had a chance to rest. The corner led SpVgg Albrecht's Luizinho Simão to fire away a dangerous shot which Tomás Furtado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tomás Furtado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Gaúcho in the 69th minute of the match. Bernardo Baptista hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Rodrigo Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizão Abreu struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Tomás Furtado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SpVgg Albrecht. SpVgg Albrecht's Rodrigo Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Arik Geenen made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Furtado. Rezende's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. Tomás Furtado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rodrigo Gaúcho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-9 in the 90 minute of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Arik Geenen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rezende's Tomás Furtado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Rodrigo Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SpVgg Albrecht played a much better game than Rezende and deserved their victory. The Rezende players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
