Faustão Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Augusto Aguiar in the 18th minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Rocha struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Wiliam Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pote. In the 30th minute, Luziania SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luiz Guilherme Rocha fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Pote's Wanderson Queirós managed to work through Luziania SC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Wanderson Queirós dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. A collision led to Luziania SC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Enéas Loyola hit a great ball. Fabinho Trevisan scored 2-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Faustão Mesquita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Augusto Silva was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Pote's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Aguiar came free, but Faustão Mesquita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Luziania SC's Enéas Loyola got a free kick in the 55th minute. Wanderson Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wiliam Salles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Zé Augusto Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wiliam Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wiliam Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wanderson Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Wanderson Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Wiliam Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Dante hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Pote's Wanderson Queirós sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wiliam Salles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wanderson Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luiz Guilherme Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Luziania SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Matos to maneuver through the defense. Pote walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
