Rui Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Pimenta in the 17th minute of the match. If Mauro Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. E. C. Hepacaré's Betão Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 40 minutes of play, E. C. Hepacaré's Luciano da Silva made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rui Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 43rd minute, Vitinho Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Jaboticabal Atlético 007's Vinícius de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Domingues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betão Pimenta in the 48th minute of play forced Jaboticabal Atlético 007's goalkeeper Rui Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Mauro Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Rui Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. E. With a little luck, Jaboticabal Atlético 007's Rui Sarmento got control of the ball when Betão Pimenta tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Mauro Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Paraibano might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Sarmento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Paraibano ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betão Pimenta got free with Rui Sarmento in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. E. C. Hepacaré's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
