Spectators: 7130 (Terracing: 5381, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gildo Nóbrega started the match with the kick off. If Régis Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gildo Nóbrega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Carlinhos da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sport Club Goldenbats defense, Gildo Nóbrega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlinhos da Silveira. The Sport Club Goldenbats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlinhos da Silveira should have stopped the shot. Pedro Paulo Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Paulo Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Nelson Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Gildo Nóbrega managed to get in a good position for a shot. Central SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo Nóbrega was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Club Goldenbats's goalkeeper Carlinhos da Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nilton Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Bueno in the 36th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Régis Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Central SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Régis Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlinhos da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sport Club Goldenbats's Nelson Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Régis Valladares in the 44th minute of play forced Sport Club Goldenbats's goalkeeper Carlinhos da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlinhos da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Prata in the 47th minute of play. Flávio de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. After 49 played minutes, Central SC's Aílton Trevisan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlinhos da Silveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Central SC reached it. The Sport Club Goldenbats players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Central SC were winning 0-1.

After a rather tough play, Sport Club Goldenbats's Flávio de Toledo got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 60 played minutes Sport Club Goldenbats got a freekick which was hit by Germano Novaes. Carlinhos da Silveira made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Régis Valladares sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Central SC's Carlinhos da Silveira threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gildo Nóbrega, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Régis Valladares got free with Carlinhos da Silveira in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlinhos da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Nóbrega in the 73rd minute of the match. When Pedro Paulo Prata was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. In the 86th minute, Pedro Paulo Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armandinho Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Central SC's zone, Nelson Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilton Lara came out of the goal and Nelson Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelson Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Central SC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Sport Club Goldenbats side.
