In the 14th minute, Toninho Vianna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Inácio Vander. Dalmo Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hílton Barros in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmo Sousa saved Saldanha fc from getting behind. Esporte Clube Bahêa's Inácio Vander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Esporte Clube Bahêa from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Saldanha fc booed when Esporte Clube Bahêa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esporte Clube Bahêa's Inácio Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Gerber in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Bahêa's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Gustavo Gerber came free, but Inácio Vander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcel Rezende hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Jorginho Goiano from long distance, 46 minutes into the match, got Inácio Vander's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Hílton Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Dalmo Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Gustavo Gerber was the one to do the kick off. Dalmo Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deivid Urbano in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Gerber in the 53rd minute of play forced Esporte Clube Bahêa's goalkeeper Inácio Vander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Jorginho Goiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Inácio Vander was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 66th minute, Francisco Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juarês Cerezo in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inácio Vander saved Esporte Clube Bahêa from getting behind. César Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling César Andrade in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 76 minutes, César Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube Bahêa's supporters crossed their fingers, but César Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esporte Clube Bahêa's Inácio Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Goiano in the 78th minute of play. Esporte Clube Bahêa were furious when Vito Castro was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 96 minutes, Jorginho Goiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saldanha fc and the Esporte Clube Bahêa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jorginho Goiano hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Saldanha fc had won after a very even match.
