In the 5thth minute of the game Gildo Nóbrega who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E. C. Hepacaré's André Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. André Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Régis Valladares in the 10th minute of the match. After 15 played minutes, Central SC's Amílton Alves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper André Domingues came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Central SC reached it. The supporters of E. C. Hepacaré booed when Central SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Paulo Prata didn't get a good kick on the ball. E. C. Hepacaré's Alfredão Zanette couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 17th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Central SC. After 19 minutes, Pedro Paulo Prata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Central SC and the E. C. Hepacaré players grew even worse after the yellow card. The wind increased when Régis Valladares made the kick off in the second half. Nilton Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilton Lara came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by E. C. Hepacaré's Betão Pimenta. But to his dismay, Betão Pimenta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Betão Pimenta struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Nilton Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E. C. Hepacaré. Nilton Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Paraibano in the 72nd minute of play. If Régis Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to E. C. Hepacaré getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Bruninho Marques hit a great ball. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Central SC's goalkeeper Nilton Lara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
