In the 9th minute, Paulinho Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ediberto Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chicão Rodrigues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, novatos f . c's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Lago came free, but Ediberto Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Jean Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bacara's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ediberto Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Wilton Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliézer Cabral struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Ediberto Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bacara. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

52 minutes into the match, novatos f . c's goalkeeper Ediberto Braga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean Lago. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Lago in the 55th minute of play forced novatos f . c's goalkeeper Ediberto Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bacara's zone, Ciro Motta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Augusto Chaves came out of the goal and Ciro Motta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime da Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliézer Cabral hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Otávio das Neves was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ediberto Braga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chicão Rodrigues in the 73rd minute. Ediberto Braga made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Chicão Rodrigues sent off a good shot on target. 0-1 became the score in the 76th minute when Chicão Rodrigues elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Wilton Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 88 minutes, Ciro Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the novatos f . c and the Bacara players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bacara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
