Spectators: 7259 (Terracing: 5446, Seating: 1669, VIP seats: 144) Piche's Durval de Sena started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilmar Saldanha took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reynaldo Neto. Reynaldo Neto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 7th minute Amílton Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everton Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Gino Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aloísio Martins's late challenge caught a The Sharks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aloísio Martins helped the player get up and apologised. 13 minutes into the game, Gilmar Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Sharks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piche the free kick. After a rather tough play, The Sharks's Gilmar Saldanha got a free kick in the 13th minute. Everton Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reginaldo Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval de Sena in the 21st minute of play forced The Sharks's goalkeeper Everton Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Gilmar Saldanha fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Reynaldo Neto, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of The Sharks booed when Piche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aloísio Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aloísio Martins hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Piche's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Saldanha came free, but Reynaldo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldo Angelin hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Gilberto Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Neto having to interfere. Reynaldo Neto didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 45th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilmar Saldanha to make the kick off. Durval de Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Everton Ribeiro having to make a save. In the 68th minute, Reginaldo Maia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Everton Ribeiro, passed just outside the right post. Gilmar Saldanha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Neto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Gilberto Custódio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Neto was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The Sharks's Everton Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save The Sharks from getting a goal against them. Piche's Durval de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Reynaldo Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Custódio in the 89th minute of play. Durval de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Armandinho Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Hugo Esteves sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Piche's Reynaldo Neto didn't even have to move. For all the effort they put into the match, the Piche players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for The Sharks.
