Laerte Aguiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valério de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Paraibano having to interfere. Valério de Azevedo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Canoas Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Cordeiro. After taking down the ball on Floresta Club's corner Rômulo Batista fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilian de Souza quite easily take care of the ball. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Clemente Batista sped through Canoas Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilian de Souza. Valério de Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinei Paraibano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valério de Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute, João Pedro Koehler fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Pedro Koehler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
