Sabara's Alfredinho do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Sabara's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Batista came free, but Cristian Abraão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerônimo Soares during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 17 played minutes Floresta Club got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Soares. Dinei Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Sabara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gilberto Vaz in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Alfredinho do Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinei Paraibano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Kaká da Mata hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Clemente Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sabara's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rômulo Batista was slow to take the kick. During this time Floresta Club's players had a chance to rest. Floresta Club's Rômulo Batista was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cristian Abraão in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Clemente Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luiz Eduardo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Floresta Club's Clemente Batista in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 82nd minute, Agostinho Baiano made a precise shot to the right of Dinei Paraibano. Floresta Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Clemente Batista kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cristian Abraão. That made the score 3-1 in the 88 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Eduardo da Costa could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Cristian Abraão however easily saved by the left post. Sabara's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
