Teodoro Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Teodoro Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Christiano Sergipano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Pedro Massa's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute, Rickers's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Teodoro Baptista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 11 minutes into the match, Zé Pedro Massa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christiano Sergipano. Bocaiuva's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Pedro Massa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Christiano Sergipano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Massa in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, Rickers's Giovani Perez got control of the ball when Teodoro Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Serafim Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chicão Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani Perez having to interfere. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rickers's goalkeeper Giovani Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arí Soares during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arí Soares hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Teodoro Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Rickers were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Fellipe Sousa made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodoro Baptista in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Giovani Perez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chicão Quirino in the 62nd minute of play forced Rickers's goalkeeper Giovani Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giovani Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Baptista in the 63rd minute of play. Teodoro Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Chicão Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Bocaiuva fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chicão Quirino couldn't finish the play. If Fellipe Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christiano Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rickers's goalkeeper Giovani Perez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilson Furtado's late challenge caught a Bocaiuva's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilson Furtado helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bocaiuva booed when Rickers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodoro Baptista struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Giovani Perez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bocaiuva. Chicão Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Giovani Perez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chicão Quirino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teodoro Baptista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovani Perez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Baptista in the 96th minute of play forced Rickers's goalkeeper Giovani Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rickers had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
