In the 15th match minute, Kurumba F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Kurumba F.C's zone, Pedro Marquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafa Catarinense came out of the goal and Pedro Marquez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Pedro Marquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafa Catarinense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Pedro Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Rafa Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Manuel das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Dráusio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Kurumba F.C booed when Toriba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wellington Pires didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelson Figueiredo went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. When Luizão França fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kurumba F.C's protests and gave Luizão França a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Luizão França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
