The referee ignored Kurumba F.C's protests and gave Jairo Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Kurumba F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Gaspar. Kurumba F.C's Nelson Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the last second Rafa Catarinense throw himself and got hold of the ball when Serginho Moreira in the 14thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 18 minutes into the match, SE Martinica's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Figueiredo came free, but Silvério Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvério Amorim came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Kurumba F.C's Dráusio Travassos. But to his dismay, Dráusio Travassos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 25th minute, Serginho Moreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Serginho Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luizão França's late challenge caught a SE Martinica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luizão França helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Kurumba F.C's Luizão França got a free kick in the 31st minute. 32 minutes into the game, Jefferson Tande cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rafa Catarinense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rafa Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jefferson Tande got free with Rafa Catarinense in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erivaldo Lucas hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Jefferson Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Serginho Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráusio Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Amorim having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serginho Moreira to make the kick off. Kurumba F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jefferson Tande was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Serginho Moreira took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafa Catarinense. Rafa Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Rafa Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Silvério Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amadeu Félix took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafa Catarinense. Kurumba F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Kurumba F.C's zone, Serginho Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafa Catarinense came out of the goal and Serginho Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serginho Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafa Catarinense having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Ramalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kurumba F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
