Chicão Hermes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silas Barral in the 6th minute. Diamantino Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro Cearense in the 9th minute of play. Raí Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. When Associação Chapecoense's Cristiano Silva in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cariry's goalie prevented a goal. If Cristiano Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Silva in the 30th minute of play forced Cariry's goalkeeper Chicão Hermes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Silas Barral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Hermes having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cariry's Eduardo Souto got a free kick in the 37th minute. Silas Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Chicão Hermes made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdomiro Cearense in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Zonta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 45 minutes into the match, Associação Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Valdomiro Cearense came free, but Diamantino Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Marcelinho Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 47 minutes into the game, Raí Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Associação Chapecoense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cariry the free kick. Raí Saldanha hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. In the 49th minute Marcelinho Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cristiano Silva made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Associação Chapecoense's Cristiano Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chicão Hermes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Silas Barral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Associação Chapecoense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After recieving a nice pass, Cariry's Edmílson Quirino tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Chicão Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Silva in the 89th minute of the match. Silas Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Cariry's goal looked a bit too open when Silas Barral came free, but Chicão Hermes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cariry's Chicão Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Silva in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cariry's zone, Raí Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Hermes came out of the goal and Raí Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cariry's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
